I am an Iowa farm girl. When I was young I ran a lot of track and played basketball. I have one older sister. I moved to Colorado to attend UNC. I loved living in Colorado where I could do a lot of running, camping and hiking. I met my husband in Greeley, CO and we moved to Newport Beach, CA where I got my first teaching job. We enjoyed living next to the beach and loved it. After having our daughter we decided it was time to get closer to family and we moved back to Colorado. We have lived in Frost Collins ever since. We have four children.
I attended the University of Northern Colorado and have a Masters in Special Education/ Elementary Education. From there my husband and I moved to Newport Beach, California where I taught hearing impaired students for 8 years. We movd to Fort Collins in 1998 and I started teaching 5th grade at Olander. I have been at Olander ever since!
I enjoy teaching because I like watching children discover new things about themselves. I enjoy spending my time each day nurturing young minds and bringing new experiences to bright little personalities.
My favorite books include a lot of children's literature. I like the Percy Jackson series and Peter and the Star Catcher. Children's literature is the best.
I enjoy reading, hiking, running, camping, boogie boarding, and spending time with my family.
Olander is the best because we put kids first!
My classroom is a fun place to be where children can be themselves and take the time they need to learn, grow, and be helpful friends. Come check it out and you will see how we work together and care about each other.
